Features

System software: An intuitive graphical user interface and a Windows® operating system provides strong data security

Printing and laser engraving: New Artista® VHD retransfer color printing technology brings litho-like printing inline. Direct-to-card color and monochrome printing and highly advanced laser engraving and graphics printing capabilities available.

Embossing and indent printing: Precision, flexibility and speed of embossing, indent printing and topping modules enhances speed of operations and the appearance of cards.

Provides the controls for the Datacard® MX6000™ card issuance system and is the primary interface point for the operator. Includes the hardware and software needed to control activities performed by each module and manages the system as a whole.

Card input module

Multiple card input modules can be installed to allow multiple card stocks to be selected within a single card run or to increase capability for large jobs.

Card cleaning module

Cleans the card in the system prior to graphics printing or color printing. Provides a dual cleaning system that removes damaging dirt and dust contaminants from the card.

Artista® VHD retransfer color printing module

Prints brilliant edge-to-edge, 600 dpi color images using precise pigment ink retransfer technology. The module can be used to produce secure government ID cards with variable microprint text embedded in images. Provides on-demand card stock production or individual unique card printing to reduce lead times, as well as inventory and preprinting costs.

DuraGard™ laminate module

Applies Datacard® DuraGard® laminates over card surface to improve durability and security of personalized cards. DuraGard laminates are bonded to the card with heat-activated permanent adhesive layer for security and protection.

·         DuraGard laminates provide chemical and abrasion resistance, as well as tamper evidence characteristics

·         DuraGard 1.0 mil laminates exceed accepted industry standards for tamper evidence and moisture resistance

Embossing module

High-quality embossing and indent printing with tightly aligned character-to-character spacing and consistent text height and location. Large, 112-character emboss wheel enables use of multiple fonts and supports a wide range of special characters.

Label affixing module

Applies a removable adhesive label to the card. Label can be preprinted or used in conjunction with a downstream graphics printing module for dynamic printing on a per-card basis.

·         Accurate placement and consistent alignment

·         Multiple modules within a system can apply more than one label or selectively apply separate labels to different cards

Card flipper module

Can be configured to flip the card to enable back side personalization of the card using a front side personalization module.

·         Can be used for back side application of color printing, laminates and topcoats, or encoding back side of contact smart card chips

·         Modules between flippers can be used as a front or rear module depending on card layout

Card output module

Designed with two trays; one tray for good cards, one tray for rejected cards. Multiple card output modules can be installed to expand output capacity, or to allow card groupings to be separated for quality control, downstream processing/handling or for varying delivery methods. 

·         Configurable with up to four output modules

·         Pause/resume button at card output module allows operator to stop or restart production without returning to the system controller

Card Delivery system 

The Datacard® MXD™ card delivery system is designed to integrate inline with the Datacard® Maxsys™ card issuance system. Together, the systems offer the world's fastest inline card issuance solution. The MXD card delivery system processes up to 3,000 forms per hour, allowing card issuers to optimize throughput, increase capacity and drive down cost-per-card within their card operations.

As with the Datacard® UltraForm™ card delivery system, the MXD system supports Microsoft® Word software templates for smooth, error-free mail merges. Card issuers can communicate directly with customers by using customized promotions to strengthen loyalty, increase card usage and drive revenue with the system's inline laser printing which allows personalized messages for each mail-ready package.

Additional features include a dual page option and a high speed folder option. The dual page option is a feature never before offered on our legacy card delivery systems that allows two personalized forms per account (the card carrier and a second form). This feature opens up the possibility to personalize double the messaging of a single carrier/form. The high speed folder option (the addition of a second folder module) allows the maximum throughput of the MXD system to increase from 2,000 forms per hour to 3,000 forms per hour.

The MXD system features a Microsoft® Windows® operating system interface, emergency stop button, pause and resume functionality, and indicator lights. The system features a scalable design that can expand as your card program grows.

Envelope Insertion System                    

The Datacard® MXi™ envelope insertion system for the Datacard® MXD™ card delivery system offers the integration needed to create ready-to-mail packages completely inline. The MXi system is quick and efficient, designed to maximize ease of use for operators.

The MXi system features selective inserting, allowing higher productivity to process more mailings per hour. Fewer interruptions are needed for job setup, resulting in maximizing marketing efforts for your organization
